Terms of use
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the MandiSetu app or website. By creating an account, you agree to them. MandiSetu is currently run by its founders while company registration is in progress.
What MandiSetu is
MandiSetu is an online marketplace. We help buyers and sellers of fresh produce find each other and we arrange safe payment. We do not buy, own, store or transport the produce, and we are not a party to the sale between buyer and seller.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older and give true details about yourself.
- You log in with a one-time password sent to your mobile number. Do not share it with anyone.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account.
Listings
- Sellers must describe the crop, grade and quantity honestly and must have the produce ready to sell.
- The mandi rates shown in the app come from public government data (Agmarknet) and are for guidance only. You decide your own price.
- Traders and suppliers are responsible for holding any licence their state requires, such as a trader or FSSAI licence.
Payments, escrow and payouts
- The buyer pays through our payment partner, Razorpay. The seller's share is held until delivery is settled.
- The buyer confirms the weight that arrived. The seller is paid for that weight, and the buyer gets the rest of their payment back automatically.
- If the buyer does not confirm delivery or raise a complaint within 48 hours of dispatch, the payment is released to the seller for the full ordered quantity.
- Unpaid orders are cancelled after 30 minutes and the quantity goes back on sale.
Fees and taxes
- Listing produce is free. The buyer pays a platform fee of 1.5% of the produce value, plus 18% GST on that fee. The fee is charged only on the quantity accepted.
- As an e-commerce operator, we deduct income-tax TDS of 0.1% from sellers' payouts where the law requires it, and deposit it with the government.
Complaints and disputes
A buyer can report a problem with quantity or quality before confirming delivery. The payment stays on hold while our team reviews the evidence from both sides, such as weighing slips and photos. We then decide how much of the order the buyer pays for, from nothing to the full amount, and settle the payment on that basis. We aim to decide within 72 hours.
What is not allowed
- False listings, fake orders, or misleading weights or grades.
- Trying to take a trade found on MandiSetu off the platform to avoid the fee or the payment protection.
- Misusing another person's account or data, or interfering with the app's security.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Liability
We work to keep the app accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always work without interruption. We are not responsible for the quality or condition of produce, which is a matter between buyer and seller, beyond the dispute process described above. Our total liability for any claim about an order is limited to the platform fee paid on that order, to the extent the law allows.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Maharashtra have jurisdiction over any dispute about these terms.
